Nutrifield pH Down is a concentrated pH reducer for lowering the pH of hydroponic nutrient solutions. When the pH of a reservoir drifts too high, nutrients can become unavailable to plants, a problem growers call nutrient lockout. A small, measured addition brings the solution back into the range most plants prefer, which is roughly 5.5 to 6.5.
It is a practical tank controller for growers who mix nutrients regularly and want predictable results. Test your solution, add a little pH Down, stir, and retest until you reach your target.
Suitable for Hydroponic Reservoirs and tanks, also suitable for adjusting watering solutions used with soil or coco.
Why pH Control Matters
The pH scale runs from 0 to 14. Below 7 is acidic, 7 is neutral and above 7 is alkaline.
Most plants do well at a nutrient solution pH of about 5.5 to 6.5, and many growers aim for the narrower band of 5.7 to 6.2.
Check pH whenever you prepare nutrients and regularly while monitoring your reservoir or tank.
If pH climbs too high, nutrients become less available to the plant (nutrient lockout), so correcting it early protects growth.
